Students Scholarship Program 

Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC sponsors 25 undergraduate students from the affected villages. Scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in state accredited universities and have high academic performance. Scholarship will continue for four years until the completion of the undergraduate level.  Read more

English Language Preparatory Classes for the University National Examination

AGL supported 12th grade students to pass national examinations in English language for entering universities. AGL opened language centers in Daba Shuakhevi, Didachara, Daba Khulo, and Gurta villages, recruited local teachers and provided books and other needed materials for teaching. Totally 212 students were enrolled in language courses which lasted for 2 years. 70% of students passed exams in English language.   

Healthcare Awareness Project

AGL launched health awareness training in Khulo and Shaukehvi municipalities with a goal to raise awareness on public health related information and increase the resident’s awareness on general health topics, and through the increased awareness decrease the spread of diseases like STD and HIV, hepatitis, healthy lifestyle and earlier detection of breast cancer. Students Internship

In order to provide direct experience of work and increase locals engineering skills, AGL assisted Georgian students to undergo internship at the Shuakhevi Hydropower Project.  6 Students spent most of the time in field and worked closely with Contractors’ engineers. Interns rotated so all of them received experience in all three locations: powerhouse, tunnels, dams. 

Road Safety Awareness Raising Project

Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC supported a Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Khulo and Shuakhevi municipalities which aimed at increasing awareness of local population living in the vicinity of the hydropower development work on road safety. Read more

Sustainable Use of Firewood and Energy Efficient Wood Stoves 

Several meetings were held on energy efficient firewood stoves for the affected communities. Meetings covered several topics: potential of Georgia, importance of energy development for the economy of the country, energy efficient wood stove, etc.  

Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle

AGL intends to support promotion of healthy lifestyle in the Project area. Due to that reason the Company co-financed Khulo football team Khikhani in 2015-2016.



Switch The Language

    Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC is a special purpose vehicle set up to develop the hydropower resources on the Adjaristsqali River and its tributaries, in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, in South Western Georgia. AGL is a joint venture between India’s Tata Power and Norway's Clean Energy Invest, and IFC, a member of the World Bank Group. IFC has supported the project since its early development, through IFC InfraVentures, which is an early stage project developer launched by IFC.
