AGL installed bat boxes in the forests
AGL installed 25 bat boxes in the forest areas of Didachara, Skhalta and Akhaldaba which are adjacent to the Shuakhevi HPP. Five bat boxes were installed in Didachara, ten in Skhalta and ten in Akhaldaba. The project is the part of the company’s biodiversity action plan.
These mitigation measures were implemented by the PSOV NGO, which is researching the biodiversity of fauna within the project area. Eleventh and twelfth-grade students and teachers from the Didachara, Skhalta and Akhaldaba schools participated in the installation of these bat boxes.
These measures were taken as part of an environmental survey and protection pilot project. After the completion of the Shuakhevi HPP, 50 more bat boxes will be installed.
