English Essay Contest Prize Ceremony
On Monday, 25 May, AGL awarded prizes for its 2015 English essay contest on the theme, ‘Georgia in 2045.’ 43 students from the upper Adjaran municipalities of Keda, Shuakhevi, and Khulo participated in this year’s contest by submitting essays, and the following six students were awarded prizes for their writing:
1st place –
Ketevan Tavdgiridze (Khichauri Public School)
2nd place –
Lia Dekanadze (Khulo Public School)
Eliso Jijavadze (Tsoniarisi Public School)
3rd place –
Alexander Diasamidze (Keda Public School)
Lela Tavartqiladze (Khulo Public School)
Teona Khabadze (Qveda Makhuntseti Public School)
The first place winner was awarded a laptop, the two second place winners received tablet computers, and the three third place winners each received prize bags containing headphones and an assortment of English books. The ceremony was presided over by Zviad Diasamidze, the director of land, environmental, and social issues at AGL and prizes were awarded by Josh Gerard, AGL’s construction manager. Guests included contest winners, their English teachers and school principals, and the directors of the educational resource centers in Keda, Shuakhevi, and Khulo.
