Adjaristsqali Georgia Marks Environment Protection Week
As part of International Environment Day, Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC (AGL) traditionally celebrates Environment Protection Week together with communities living in the vicinity of the Shuakhevi Hydropower Plant.
Within the framework of the week, the company's Environmental Team and management representatives visited Skhalta Public School and the local kindergarten, where they donated separate collection bins for paper and plastic waste to students and teachers. The company will ensure the collection and transportation of the waste to designated recycling facilities.
During the visit, the Head of Environmental Compliance, Nino Gagua, delivered an interactive presentation for students. The session covered important topics such as climate change, waste management, air and water pollution, forest protection, biodiversity conservation, and the responsible use of natural resources.
"Today, we visited Skhalta Public School and celebrated International Environment Day together with the students. Our goal is to discuss the importance of environmental protection, waste sorting, and recycling. We want children to understand that every individual can contribute to protecting the environment and that small actions can lead to significant change," said Nino Gagua.
"Our school has successfully cooperated with Adjaristsqali Georgia for many years through various environmental and educational initiatives. One notable example is the school greening project, during which the company donated tree seedlings to the school, and our students actively participated in the planting process. Today's meeting was also highly engaging and interactive. Students received valuable information about environmental protection, waste management, and climate change, while actively participating in discussions and sharing their own ideas and perspectives," said Temur Shainidze, director of Skhalta Public School.
The information session was attended by the company's Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Shuakhevi HPP, and managers from various departments.
AGL considers environmental protection and sustainable development among its highest priorities and regularly implements environmental and educational initiatives in close cooperation with local communities.
